The breakfast spread featured local delights that kicked off our day. The beautiful views of the lake from the family bungalow created unforgettable moments during sunset. Hammocks are perfect for unwinding afterwards!
None of the tuk tuks wanted to tackle the steep hill back to our bungalow, so a hike became our cardio for the day. A touch of cozy lighting would have set a nicer vibe, and the cold water shower was a bit of a buzzkill.

The views from our terrace in the Standard Bungalow were stunning. However, the walk back up was quite steep.

Cozy bungalows tucked away in a serene setting. Views from the terrace in the morning are a real treat.
Walking up the hill to the bungalows can be a hike, especially when you consider the tuktuks won't make the climb back. The lack of hot water for showers is pretty disappointing—definitely not ideal for the whole family. Plus, you need to arrange transportation into town, as it's a bit far to walk.

The steep climb back to the bungalow can be quite a workout, and I faced issues with cold water in the shower, which was disappointing.

Giovanni at the front desk was fantastic, making dinner reservations for us and even serving at the restaurant! The outdoor garden and the refreshing pool area were perfect for relaxing after a long day. Just a heads up, getting back to the hotel can be a bit of a workout up the hill, but it’s definitely worth it! 🌿

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Zocalo Campestre. The breathtaking views of La Piedra and the serene lake from my room were delightful, offering an escape into nature. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and made delightful breakfast arrangements featuring local cuisine.
Walking up the steep hill can be tiring.

great location with cultural charm
The hotel's location is ideal, being right next to La Piedra. The friendly staff made my stay enjoyable and personalized. The bungalows offered a wonderful traditional Colombian experience, complete with beautiful garden views that added to the tranquil atmosphere.
However, the overall amenities felt slightly lacking for a premium experience.

The family bungalow was super comfy! I loved how spacious it felt, and the decor was charming and colorful. The best part? The views were absolutely stunning from our room, especially during sunset. Plus, we had a nice little area to chill out in the hammocks right outside. Only downside was that I wished the bathroom could’ve been a bit updated, but it didn’t ruin my vibe.
